Lakian Lairalta

Currently, all Lakian Lairalta wool comes from Kujanen Ratsutila in Alahärmä. The wool is the wool of Finnish sheep that live organically. The yarns are spun and handdyed in Finland.

Flikkaanen (means girly) is a beautiful 1-strand fingering weight 100 % woolen yarn. There are 400 meters of yarn in a 100 gram skein. Scarves and blouses are more popular uses.

Neitokaanen (means maiden) is a 2-strand sport/fingering weight 100% woolen yarn. There are approx. 360 meters in a 100 g skein. A popular thread for many different uses.

Mäläkki (means young boy) is a multi-purpose 3-strand dk-weight 100 % woolen yarn. A skein of 100 grams has 230 meters of yarn.

Gauge approx. 18s/10cm, in the merchant's handwriting with needles 3 mm.

Shirts, jackets, beanies, hats. A thicker scarf, neckerchief, etc

Coming back lately: Häjy (means bad man) is a thick aran-weight 4-strand 100% woolen yarn. There are 180 meters of yarn in 100 grams, depending on the spinning mill. This will certainly make a warm shirt, a beanie or a pair of mittens.

Undyed are either straight sheep colors or their mixtures. The yarns have been gentle washed, so the yarns may contain lanolin.

Dyed yarns are hand-dyed nearby. For larger jobs, I recommend to stripe the point where the ball changes, so that the possible color difference between the skeins is not so striking.

Colour map stays, we don’t dye unique colours, only except dyers mistakes.

If you want more of a color than is currently in stock, place an order by emailing. For one larger work, the yarns are dyed in the same batch.
